"It's only 15 minutes to the bottom!"

okay. this is not the blog post you are all looking for...
this is a filler that I had already started.
Bocas blog ... coming soon

Lawson invited folks to go hiking in Los Molinas Canyon. "It's only 15 minutes to the bottom..." I kept hearing from many of the friends... who obviously had never hiked to the bottom.

Los Molinos is a gated community in Alto Boquete. It reminds me of a Californian neighborhood. Many English speakers seem to live here. There is a restaurant, cafe, pool etc. It is on the outskirts of Boquete, along the canyon, therefore one may see animals, like iguana & coatamundi or hear the howler monkeys in the canyon. There is a river that runs through the canyon. The name of the river may or may not be Rio Cochea. "No say"

We went hiking down a treacherous trail that is open "at your own risk". It was great fun and the reward at the bottom was wonderful.

Wanna hear a cool story? We hiked with Kavin and his daughter, Leeanne. (Momma Vivian was not with us) This is their story.

The law in Panama is:(If you are not a resident/pensionado) If you drive a car then you must leave the country every 90 days, for 72 hours. If you do not drive a car then you must leave the country every 180 days, for 72 hours. We live on the Western side of Panama, therefore most of us go into Costa Rica for the required time. The Moores were heading into Costa Rica, via Volcan, Panama  (visiting friends). Somewhere along the way they met Jorge. Jorge is a Mexican brother who is involved in the "pioneer circuit", which is through the Mexican Branch. This arrangement sends brothers and sisters to help congregations within the Branch. Jorge was also heading to Costa Rica for his prescribed time, however he missed his bus. SO he was graciously invited to join the Moores. (That's just how they are!) After they arrived in Costa Rica they parted ways. However, as they were then departing to return to Panama, who do they see but Jorge - he had left his passport with them... I imagine he was very happy to find them again! So Jorge came back with them and spent a little bit of time with them... including joining us in our hike. It was really nice. What a terrific brotherhood we have. Friends who don't even know each other, and in this case, don't even speak the same language. AWESOME - ONLY AN AWESOME CREATOR COULD ACCOMPLISH THIS WITH SUCH IMPERFECT PEOPLE.

HALFWAY

That's the clubhouse where we started

Jim, Gail and Lawson brought enough food to feed an army. We brought almonds.

So I had to earn my keep by doing dishes.

Carlo is always looking for animals for me.

This is the only animal we saw... butterflies.
